Iceland Opens Up Their Borders To All Those Vaccinated!

The Icelandic government agreed this morning that from now on travellers who have been vaccinated are allowed to travel to Iceland without having to go into qurantine.

Before this was only valid for those living in the Schengen area but now it applies to all.  Travellers need to show a valid vaccination card that has to be in English or one of the Scandinavian languages (not Finnish).

This is an opportunity to travel for those that have been vaccinated but as you may know the situation in Iceland in regards of Covid is very good at the moment.  We have very few cases here, only 1 in the last 24 hours and total of 3 in the last week.  We also do not have strict rules at the moment.  Here below is a summary of the rules that are valid until beginning of april.

  1. 50 person restriction.
  2. Masks are needed in all public places
  3. Swimming pools are open and can allow up to 75% of what their operating licence allows.
  4. Gyms are open.
  5. Restaurants are upen until 23:00 with max 50 persons
  6. Pubs are open with max 50 persons and all must have a seat
  7. Museums are open with up to 200 persons.
  8. All stores are open with max 200 persons but less in a smaller stores.
