Volcano Eruption Iceland

It is the tenth eruption in the area since 2021, and the eruption does not pose a threat to life. The eruption is categorized as a fissure eruption, which often does not result in large explosions or extensive ash dispersion into the stratosphere. The eruption is emitting hazardous fumes, and therefore the area is closed to all traffic, which includes hiking. There is no immediate danger to life from the eruption, and the Blue Lagoon was safely and quickly evacuated. As a precaution, the Blue Lagoon will remain closed for today and we have moved current bookings to other locations for safety measures.

Flights to and from Iceland remain currently unaffected, and international flight corridors remain open.

Iceland, the land of fire and ice, is accustomed to volcanic eruptions that have created our breathtaking landscapes for millions of years. We will keep current bookings and clients traveling with us posted on any changes to the situation as they occur, and as always, assess the situation and make necessary adjustments to itineraries. This is an isolated event on the Reykjanes peninsula that does not affect the rest of the island.
