Day 2: Game of Thrones Tour

Get collected from your hotel and taken on the Game of Thrones Locations tour! This tour takes you to some of the filming locations in Iceland where you’ll get to experience Icelandic nature just like the cast members: take in the majestic, sweeping views, watch dancing waterfalls, capture the panoramas in the distance, and experience the stillness and solitude.

Iceland didn’t make its debut in “Game of Thrones” until season two, but since then it has become a favorite on the show. After a visit to Gullfoss waterfall, the producers of the show knew that Iceland’s diverse landscape would be the perfect backdrop for some of the show’s fiercest and most dramatic scenes like Drogon the dragon hunting for goats, the Hound and Brienne of Tarth fighting for Arya Stark (only visited during summer season) and when the Wildlings and Thenns attack Olly's village.

We’ll also visit the Bloody Gate, which is the narrow passageway to the Eyrie taken by Lord Baelish (Little Finger) and Sansa Stark and later by the Hound and Arya. The scenes at the Bloody Gate were filmed at Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site where the age-old Icelandic parliament, the Althing, was established. We’ll also walk around the settlement-era lodge in Þjórsárdalur valley where elaborate scenes were shot, including a certain hair-raising massacre of a village.

Stay overnight at your Reykjavik hotel

Day 3 - 7: Leisure Time

It is completely up to you what you do on the rest of your trip, but we have some fantastic tours to recommend.

The Reykjavik sightseeing tour provides information on the rich history and culture that shaped Iceland. You will visiting the prime landmarks and attractions in and around the capital city.

Alternatively, enjoy a whole day of exploring the Golden Circle with our Classic Golden Circle tour.  It’s a classic for good reason. Combining history, culture and extraordinary nature, you will see Thingvellir National Park and walk among the geological wonders of the fissure zone and in the footsteps of the early Viking settlers where the Althingi parliament was founded. You will then be taken to Gullfoss and feel the mist of glacial water as it cascades down one of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls.  Finally, you will witness the Geysirand hear the bubbling of the mud pots, smell the sulfur in the air and watch in awe as the geyser Strokkur blasts boiling water into the air.

Depending on the season you visit, you can also book yourself a Northern Lights or Whale Watching tour.

If you visit during winter, you can witness the most spectacular show on earth in the most beautiful place on earth. Surrounded by incredible nature, watch in awe as the green, red and purple aurora borealis dance across the night sky.  For those visiting in summer, enjoy an Icelandic Whale Watching tour from the old harbor of Reykjavik. Abundant summer daylight combined with a unique mixture of cold and warm sea currents that blend in Iceland's shallow fjords make the Icelandic territorial waters home to a rich variety of krill and fish, and consequently a bountiful feeding ground that attracts twenty-three species of whales.

Day 8: Fly Home
