What you'll do
Day 1: The Blue Lagoon
Fly in from your chosen UK airport and land safely at Keflavik.
Pick up your car hire from the airport and drive a short distance to The Northern Light Inn.
Once you have checked into the hotel take the free shuttle bus or drive to the world famous Blue Lagoon spa in Iceland. Home to one of 25 wonders of the world, Blue Lagoon Iceland is a place where the powers of geothermal seawater create transformational spa journeys. Take the time to experience the radiant powers of the water, indulge in a silica mud mask and forget all of your worries.
Stay overnight at The Northern Lights Inn.
Day 2: Geldingadalur Volcano
Drive towards the Geldingadalur volcano to experience the power of this mighty force of nature and see the lava flow. Please make sure you visit the Safe Travel website before you embark to ensure no danger levels (gases, weather, landslides, or falling rocks, etc). https://safetravel.is/eruption-in-reykjanes also https://goo.gl/maps/7whyFEjn1pbrQFD99. If you do walk to the volcano make sure you have the correct equiptment and footware the hike takes around 45 mintues to one and a half hours (one way) depending on weather and your fitness.
Drive on toward Torfhus retreat check in and relax.
Day 3: The Golden Circle
Enjoy a whole day of exploring the Golden Circle. Combining history, culture and extraordinary nature, you will see Thingvellir National Park and walk among the geological wonders of the fissure zone and in the footsteps of the early Viking settlers where the Althingi parliament was founded. You will then be taken to Gullfoss and feel the mist of glacial water as it cascades down one of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls. Finally, you will witness the Geysir and hear the bubbling of the mud pots, smell the sulfur in the air and watch in awe as the geyser Strokkur blasts boiling water into the air.
Return to Torfhus retreat.
Day 4: South Iceland
Today drive south to experience the power of the Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls make sure you wear waterproof clothing if you want to get upclose to these mighy giants.
Continue southwards towards the Reynisfjara black sand beach, with the Reynisdrangar rock formations and columnar basalt. It is one of the most spectacular beaches in Iceland but can be quite dangerous due to powerful sneaker waves, and we kindly ask our guests not to go too close to the ocean and follow all guidelines.
Stop off at the secret lagoon and relax in the oldest geothermal baths in Iceland, don't forget to bring your swimming costume, towels can be rented.
Return to Torfhus retreat.
Day 5: Reykjavik
Drive back from Torfhus to Reykjavik and enjoy your last full day in the north atlantic capital of cool, explore the colourful shops and streets enjoy the harbour and take in the museums.
Day 6: Fly Home
Drive back to Keflavik airport return your car and check in for your flight home.
