What you'll do
Day 1: Arrive in Iceland
Your holiday begins! Take off from your chosen UK airport and land at Keflavik. Collect your car hire from the airport and make your way into the capital of Reykjavik. Check into your first Reykjavik hotel and spend the rest of the evening exploring the colourful city.
Day 2: The Blue Lagoon
The next few days is all about relaxing. Drive over to Iceland's famous Blue Lagoon and let the powers of geothermal seawater create transformational spa journeys. Spend the night in Reyjavik.
Day 3: The Secret Lagoon
It's time to check out of your Reykjavik hotel and head towards South Iceland. Check into your hotel near Fludir which is just around the corner from your next relaxing experience: the Secret Lagoon. If you find yourself with some free time today, you could explore Gullfoss waterfall, part of the famous Golden Circle route.
Day 4: The Golden Circle
Today we're heading to towards the Golden Circle area where you can check in for your nights stay at a new hotel and witness the incredible geysir geothermal area right on the doorstep. You could also take a drive to Thingvellir National Park today to complete the Golden Circle route!
Day 5: Borgarnes
Check out of your hotel and head towards Borgarnes where you'll be staying the night. On route and around the area there are plenty of incredible sights to see including Hraunfossar falls and the Krauma geothermal baths
Day 6: Westfjords
Today you'll be taking the ferry from Stykkisholmur to Westfjords where your next hotel awaits you for a comfortable stay. In the most western part of Iceland, you'll find plenty of places to visit such as Dynjandi waterfall, Látrabjarg, Europe’s largest bird cliff and Rauðisandur, the fascinating red sand beach.
Day 7: Westfjords
Spend the morning travelling further west and check into your next west Iceland hotel. Continue to explore the west of Iceland and see any sights missed yesterday at your own pace.
Day 8: Isafjordur
Head north towards Isafjordur and continue to witness the dramatic landscapes of the Westfjords. There are plenty of experiences in Isafjordur to enjoy: travel around a beautiful fjord, experience untouched nature, explore unique bird life and get the opportunity to walk along some of island's most beautiful hiking trails.
Day 9: North Iceland
There's a bit of driving to do today towards North Iceland, but it's worth it. Stay overnight in Akureyri
Day 10: Akureyri & Husavik
After checking out of your Akureyri hotel, take the morning to explore the town before heading further north towards Husavik. On the way, we highly suggest stopping off at Godafoss waterfall
Day 11: Egilsstodum
After you've taken in everything Husavik has to offer, it's time to head east towards Egilsstodum. On route, stop and admire Lake Myvatn and why not even take a dip in the Myvatn Nature Baths.
Day 12: Hofn
Check out of your hotel in Egilsstodum and head south for two nights staying in Hofn. There's a beautiful coastline to see on your way down and Hengifoss waterfall is another dramatic cascade worth visiting.
Day 13: South East Iceland
You have free reign today to explore South East Iceland. Some popular sights are Vatnajokull Glacier and Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. The area is also renowned for their horse riding tours. Stay another night in Hofn.
Day 14: Hella
Today you'll be heading west to stay the night in Hella. On the way, we suggest a stop at Skaftafell National Park. Here you'll find a wealth of natural attractions, from cascading waterfalls to glacier lagoons, geological formations to black sand deserts.
Day 15: South Coast
South Iceland is one of the best parts of Iceland to explore, so spend the day taking it all in. Some popular sights include Mount Hekla, Thosmork ridge, the Diamond Beach and Dyrhólaey rock formation. Spend another night in Hella.
Day 16: Back to Reykjavik
It's time to head back towards Reykjavik. The drive isn't long so there's no rush. Continue to explore more of South Iceland or spend the day eating and shopping your way through the capital. Spend the night at your city centre hotel
Day 17: Explore Reykjavik
You have a full day to explore Reykjavik. Go whale watching, explore the harbor, take a look inside the famous Hallgrímskirkja church, eat, shop and simply enjoy your last full day in Iceland. Stay overnight ain Reykjavik.
Day 18: Fly Home
It's time to head home! Drive to Keflavik airport, drop your car hire off and catch your flight back to the UK
