The Reykjavik City tour takes 3 hours and takes you on a journey to explore the capital city’s top attractions, learn interesting facts and hear riveting stories. It provides an excellent opportunity to discover the various sights to see or activities to do in Reykjavík during your holiday in Iceland.
The tour begins at the old Höfði house where the historic summit between American president Ronald Reagan and Russian president Mikhail Gorbatsjov took place in 1986. Höfði house is also believed to be home to a ghost known as the White Lady.
The tour continues to the stunning Harpa concert hall and conference centre which was the winner of the 2013 European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture—the Mies van der Rohe Award. Next up is the city centre where we will see the infamous Hallgrímskirkja church, whose unique design was inspired by the basalt lava columns—a common volcanic rock formation in Icelandic nature.
We proceed to the viewing platform at Perlan which provides a breathtaking 360° view over the charming city of Reykjavík. The final stop on the tour is on the outskirts of the capital to visit Bessastaðir, the official residence of the President of Iceland.
Later on in the evening, you will then be collected for our Northern Lights Mystery tour. Aurora Borealis, another name for the Northern Lights, is a natural phenomenon, and therefore, the sighting is not guaranteed every night during the northern lights season. But when there is a chance, we will drive you to the countryside, into complete darkness, in the hope of seeing the skies glow, and make your experience unforgettable.
